A Bit About
Pedro

Pedro is a Principal Environmental Engineer at EI Australia, with more than 21 years of experience designing, building, and commissioning remediation/treatment systems for contaminated soil, vapours and groundwater. He has worked with many different contaminants impacting these media, such as metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, hazardous ground gases, chlorinated hydrocarbons and PFAS.

Presentation Details

A chlorinated hydrocarbon contamination plume migrating offsite will be bioremediated using a combination of zero-valent iron, bioaugmentation (AusPCE) and biostimulation (EVO). Bench trials were completed using groundwater collected from the site and included 14 different combinations of the reagents above. A pilot injection trial was also completed, providing essential information for the optimum design of the full scale process, such as expected injection flow rates and radius of influence.
