A Bit About David
David Burns, EPOC Enviro. Chief Technology Officer & Lead Scientist. Employment History: BHP process water/stack-sampling chemist, contract laboratory chemist, GWT/Fluor Daniel GTI in-house lab manager, then co-founded LabMark Laboratories, support Aust. accredited auditors as a data-quality reviewer (PARCCS), and now the CTO for EPOC Enviro. David is credited for inventing EPOC Enviro’s multi-stage Surface-Active Foam Fractionation (SAFF) process comprising a real-time vacuum rejectate removal process, methods & apparatus, including an in-situ application patented in the US as Downhole Foam Fractionation. David is an advocate for green chemistry, industrial ecology and is a current ITRC PFAS sub-team participant contributing input for the current draft Treatment Technologies and Sampling/Analysis updates and is an ALGA Ecoforum 2023 sub-committee member for this years Melbourne conference on Innovation & Technologies.

​Banning of legacy fire-fighting training foams, disposal of AFFF concentrates & management of contaminated sites has resulted in a new front to combat the spread of PFAS arising from consumer articles.
