A Bit About Divina

Dr. Divina Navarro is a Research Scientist at CSIRO Environment and an Affiliate of the University of Adelaide's School of Agriculture, Food, and Wine. Her research interests are on the fundamental and applied aspects of environmental contaminants. Divina's work aims to advance the understanding of contaminant fate and behavior and develop practical solutions for the management and remediation of contaminated environments. Currently, she is leading research on PFAS fate in terrestrial environments, application of spectroscopy techniques for predicting fate, and remediation using sorbents and floating wetlands.

Presentation Details

Unlike previous studies that have mainly focused on AC's sorption capacity for PFAS, this research explores the effectiveness of AC stabilization from a bioavailability perspective, considering the potential risks and benefits for both environmental receptors and soil function.
