A Bit About Francine
Presentation Details
Dr. Francine Kelly-Hooper is the Canadian Sediment Lead with the GHD Group. Francine operated her own environmental consulting business from 1998 to 2014, while also completing her 7-year Ph.D. research at the University of Waterloo. Her research developed the Biogenic Interference Calculation (BIC) which uses routine laboratory analysis methods to calculate true versus false petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in naturally organic materials (e.g. soil, sediment, compost, etc.). The BIC has been adopted by Canadian regulators and commercial laboratories. Francine continues expand of her routine methods to identify petroleum hydrocarbon sources, age dating, bioavailability and remediation approaches for global applications.
