John
Dr John Awad is a Research Scientist with CSIRO. For the past 7 years, he has been working on projects in the areas of water resources and water treatment to underpin the development of sustainable solutions for the water industry. John has been leading research in the area of floating wetlands to remove contaminants (nutrients and PFAS) from urban water and wastewater sources.
Presentation Details
​In this research, the application of plants for the restoration of contaminated environments has been proposed as a promising green alternative to traditional physical and chemical methods. Constructed floating wetlands (CFWs), natural-based technology will be presented as a strategy to remove PFAS from contaminated water.
